Pine Mountain Lake is 202 acres with 6 miles of shoreline and 3 sand beaches. This is your stretch of it — a private dock with a swim ladder, two canoes, two kayaks and two paddleboards already pulled up on the beach. The water is calm, genuinely swimmable, and it never freezes.

The house
Three storeys, four bedrooms, five beds and four full bathrooms. The main floor living room, dining area and kitchen all face the water through four French doors, so on warm days the deck and the living room become one room.

Practical questions
How do I get through the gate?
The house is inside the Pine Mountain Lake gated community. You enter through the main gate and pick up a guest pass for each vehicle. The association charges about $50 per vehicle per stay — that fee goes to the community, not to us. Full gate directions come with your check-in instructions.
Can we use the boats?
Yes, and they're included. Two three-person canoes, two single-seat kayaks and two paddleboards, with life jackets for the group. They live on the beach at the bottom of the lawn — no rental counter, no time slot, no roof rack.
Is the hot tub usable in winter?
Yes. Pine Mountain Lake doesn't freeze, and the hot tub runs year-round. A January soak works exactly as well as a July one.
Are pets allowed?
Well-behaved pets are welcome. Guests regularly bring dogs.
How far is Yosemite?
Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance is 24 miles east on Highway 120, roughly a 45-minute drive. Hetch Hetchy is about 25 miles, and Wapama Falls peaks April through June. Check the National Park Service for current entrance-reservation rules before you travel.
Where do we park?
Free parking on the property. Note the community's per-vehicle gate fee, so carpooling saves money.
Can we change the bed configuration?
Yes. One bedroom has two twin beds that slide together into a king. Send your preferred setup before check-in and it will be ready when you walk in.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 4:00 PM, and the door code works until 2:00 AM for late arrivals. Check-out is before 11:00 AM.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel within 48 hours of booking, and at least 14 days before check-in, for a full refund. After that: cancel 30 or more days before check-in for a full refund, or between 7 and 30 days before for a 50% refund. Inside 7 days the booking is non-refundable.
Is a deposit required?
A $500 refundable security deposit is held against the card on file and released after check-out, provided the house is left as you found it.
